Todd is the Director of Debate at Southern Illinois University and a faculty member in the Department of Communication Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University in 2000.
Todd has coached teams to five national debate championships in policy and parliamentary debate. Since 2011, he has been a regular contributor and columnist for CNN, where he provides expertise on presidential debates. Todd has made hundreds of additional appearances in various media outlets on topics related to communication, persuasion, argumentation, and public speaking.
